Lake Monroe Fishing

Spring spawning on Lake Monroe typically begins on the first full moon in January and runs through early March. The Bethel Canal is a favorite spot for spring bass fishing on Lake Monroe. After spawning bass head for the deepest vegetation they can find and wait for baitfish, try using spinnerbaits and soft jerkbaits. Lake Monroe also has good speckled perch fishing during the winter and spring months. Use live minnows and drift fish or fish around the fish attractors.
