Lochloosa Lake Fishing

Lochloosa Lake is known as a very good fishing lake. Lake Lochloosa is surrounded by cypress trees and also features a large amount of vegetation throughout the lake. Lake Lochloosa has been designated as an Outstanding Florida Water by the State of Florida and features great Black Crappie and Bluegill fishing. Try using minnows or grass shrimp for successful Black Crappie and Bluegill fishing from April-June on Lochloosa Lake. Fishing for trophy bass is excellent January-March. Wild shiners, purple and black plastic worms, and topwater float-diving type lures fished around hydrilla beds are the best for catching bass. The peak months for speckled perch are February-April. Live minnows and small jigs are the top producers, especially when the fish move into shallow shoreline water to spawn. The lake is also surrounded by the Lochloosa Wildlife Conservation Area that offer a variety of recreational opportunities.
